Suniti, a practicing Hindu, offered to show us her
, the private altar in her bedroom.
There were small framed drawing of various gods: Vishnu, Shiva and Parvati, Krishna, Hanuman (or was it Ganesh?).
An offering of flowers in a leaf bowl lay on the table along with small candles (just a wick in a ball of wax), incense, and a candle snuffer.
She also showed us her metal closets filled with sixty or more saris on hangers, their slips and scarves folded neatly in stacks in the lower and side portions of the closets.
