Rosie the deportee's wife

Here's another example of outrageous deportation of good human beings who have been in the US for decades--thank you to my friend Bill and to Grub Street, New York Magazine's food and restaurant blog.

Piro Garcia, owner of two popular taco trucks in downtown Houston, was arrested for his immigration status and taken to a deportation center in February.

He came to the US in 1994 from Guatemala to escape the remains of a brutal civil war there, but escaping a civil war or its aftermath is not a good enough reason to get into this country or to stay here.  Illegal entry means deportation.

To keep the family business going, his wife Rosie is now managing both taco trucks and working 15-hour days.

Thanks, prez.
